What if your dreams had no limits? What if wishing boldly was just the first step toward achieving boldly? And what if simply writing your dreams down was the key to making them come true?

For decades, one of the most shared success stories in goal-setting came from a supposed Harvard University study that was quoted far and wide. Here’s how the story went:

In 1953, a group of Harvard MBA students were asked if they had written goals for their future. The findings were said to be:

  • 3% had clear, written goals

  • 13% had goals, but not written down

  • 84% had no specific goals at all

Ten years later, the results were astonishing:

  • The 13% with unwritten goals earned twice as much as the 84% with none.

  • And the 3% with written goals? They were earning ten times more than the rest of the class combined.

This story made its way into leadership trainings, bestselling books, TED Talks, and coaching programs. It became motivational gold.

But here’s the twist:

That Harvard study? It never happened.

There’s no evidence it ever took place. No records, no data, no confirmation from the university. It became what we might call a “street story”—a motivational urban myth.

If there’s any evidence that the study actually exists, please send it my way—I’d love to read it! Harvard University

And yet, it spread like wildfire. Because even if the study itself wasn’t real, the insight it offered felt deeply true. We know, intuitively, that when we write down a dream – something changes.

🖋️ It becomes more real.
✨ It becomes a signal to ourselves: this matters.
💡 It activates our imagination and helps us find the next step forward.

Wishing and dreaming are not passive acts. They are how we begin. In a world driven by uncertainty, urgency, and disruption, dreaming becomes a radical act of courage. To wish is to imagine a future that doesn’t yet exist. To dream is to claim space in the world for something better. And to write it down is to give it a direction. A shape. A spark.

That’s the heart of the Moonshot Celebration.

We are inviting people from across the globe to share their dreams, their goals, and their most heartfelt wishes—to literally send them to the Moon.

Yes. This is not a metaphor.

As part of a historic lunar archive, your dream—along with thousands of others—will be preserved on the Moon’s surface. A time capsule of humanity’s imagination, creativity, and potential.

This isn’t about whether your wish is realistic. It’s about whether it’s true to you. We believe the most powerful ideas often start with something that sounds crazy, idealistic, or even impossible. So did going to the Moon—until we did it.

Why does this matter?

Because the world needs dreamers. Because hope is contagious. Because we need spaces that allow for collective imagination—beyond politics, borders, and biases.

Because maybe the act of wishing is what reminds us that we are still connected to possibility. And maybe, just maybe, if we begin to wish together, we might just build the future we’re all longing for.

This is your invitation. Write your wish. Send it to the Moon. 🌙 Make it real.

Submissions are open until March 30, 2025. 👉 https://moonshotcelebration.com/

Let’s move from wishful thinking to wishful doing—and launch our collective imagination into space.
